GIS Technician

Henderson Municipal Power & Light (HMP&L), an electric utility and fiber provider in Henderson, Kentucky, is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician for the electric department.  Duties include gathering/verifying data, creating and maintaining maps, drawings, and records of the HMP&L electric utility system and preparing work orders. Minimum requirements include:  high school diploma or GED and completion of a vocational/technical training program in drafting with emphasis in GIS mapping and software or degree in GIS or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job; and a minimum of one year GIS experience. Requirements include: a valid driver’s license; residency within a defined distance from the Service Center Complex; must pass a drug/alcohol screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment; and no DUI convictions in the previous five years.  Preferred requirements include: ESRI experience; experience in the utility industry; and computer literacy.  Starting annual wage is contingent upon experience, and includes paid vacation, sick leave, health benefits, and other benefits.  Application and detailed job description with essential functions are available on-line at www.hmpl.com.  All applications must be completed and returned to the Human Resources Department by COB, Friday, 7/03/26.   EEO/M/F/V/D
