MACHINE REBUILD MECHANIC—1st SHIFT (Corporate Maintenance)

POSITION SUMMARY

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe in industrial establishments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe in industrial establishments.
• Reads and follows specifications, blueprints and manuals.
• Understands electrical schematics.
• Reads and understands hydraulic prints.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, measuring instruments, fork trucks, and aerial equipment in the proper manner.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Operates cutting and welding equipment to cut and join metal parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs Hydraulic tubing.
• Works in confined spaces.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools.
• Initiates request for parts and machines.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management. 
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours and overtime (OT) as assigned. 
• Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
• Follows all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education, knowledge, skills and abilities:

Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Journeyman License, Associates Degree or higher is preferred.

Certifications:  High-pressure hydraulic pipe welding or willing to obtain certification.

Experience: Two or more years’ experience including using a wide range of hand and powered tools.

Licenses: Must have a valid driver’s license. Powered industrial equipment license as listed in the chart below.
