QUALITY INSPECTOR - 2ND SHIFT
This hourly position provides a quality presence on the production floor to assure product and process are compliant to all customer expectations and standards while assisting production team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assists in development of new programs to ensure that internal and external customer needs are met.
- Includes team involvement with control plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, inspection standards, capability analysis, gages, mistake proofing, etc.
- Reads, analyzes and interprets blueprints, procedures and manuals.
- Uses manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, word processing and Email software to complete daily assignments and projects.
- Creates / updates quality documentation and trains team members accordingly as required for corrective and preventative actions, deviations, temporary alert notices, gauging methods, online work instructions and rework instructions.
- Assists and teaches others decision making activities within the department, customer requirements, gage techniques, inspection and part fit and function features detrimental to customer satisfaction.
- Actively involved in cross functional problem-solving teams to perform root cause analysis for failures internally and those affecting our customers through defect recreation, is/in not, 5 why, and cause & effect.
- Audits production lines and completes final line and off-line inspections for compliance of quality standards & documentation.
- Communicates when to stop production if critical non-conforming work habits and/or product put the customer at risk.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime (OT) as assigned.
- Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma required
Certifications/License: Successful completion, as available, of Blueprint Reading classes, SPC, and Measurement Tools for QC classes.
Experience: 1 year or more related experience.
Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition of employment.
