QUALITY TECHNICIAN 2nd SHIFT
This hourly position provides quality presence on the production floor that works with the team members to assure processes and products are compliant to all customer expectations and standards while assisting production associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Accurately measures all applicable parts on all gages and runs all applicable programs on the CMM and manual CMM.
- Assists in development of new programs to ensure internal and external customer needs are met. (Includes team involvement with control plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, inspection standards, capability analysis, gages, mistake proofing.)
- Creates / updates quality documentation and trains team members accordingly as required for corrective and preventative actions, deviations, temporary alert notices, gauging methods, online work instructions and rework instructions.
- Assists and teaches others in quality decision making activities, customer requirements, gage techniques, inspection and part fit and function features detrimental to customer satisfaction.
- Actively involved in cross functional problem-solving teams to perform root cause analysis for failures internally and those affecting our customers through defect recreation, is/in not, 5 why & cause & effect.
- Champions and coordinates manpower for containment activities including setting up 3rd party sorts within the plant.
- Audits lines in each area, final inspection, and off-line inspection for compliance of quality standards & documentation.
- Review inspection data that has been collected to ID any trends or abnormal variation in process.
- Monitors production data and work with team members to limit/ control internal scrap.
- Ensures that routing tags/labels and any required customer tags are properly attached to baskets/skids and all information is correct.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime (OT) as assigned.
- Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Certifications/Licenses: Optional ASQ Certified Quality Technician.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training in the quality field. Familiar with control plans, inspection standards, customer blueprints, measurement tools, GDT, SPC, general problem solving, and ISO or IATF 16949 audit training a plus.
