SHIFT MANAGER - 3rd SHIFT
This salary, exempt position, manages plant operations for assigned shift by adhering to company policies and procedures, ensuring safe work practices are followed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises and coordinates plant manufacturing operations for a shift up to 100 team members while maintaining and complying with safety policies through team leaders, supervisors or other managers:
- Ensures production and shift goals, cost objectives, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
- Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan shift operations.
- Plans and adjusts production operations as needed to maintain full production.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Ensures standard operational and working practices and observe team members to ensure compliance with standards.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data to continuously improve quality and operations.
- Performs candidate interviews, hiring, planning, assigning accountabilities and directing work.
- Establish development goals, appraise performance, and make compensation recommendations.
- Determines appropriate training and development of new and existing team members.
- Responsible for disciplining team members, addressing complaints and resolving problems while ensuring effective team member relations.
- Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Two years experience in plant manufacturing, preferably casting; Two years leadership experience.
