Henderson Community College (HCC) FAME is a work-and-learn opportunity for those wanting a great career and a college degree at the same time with little or no college debt! Kentucky (KY) FAME (Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) is based on the nationally recognized Toyota Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) and Computerized Manufacturing and Machining (CMM) program. This program model allows participating students to earn an industry recognized degree while gaining valuable work experience in industrial maintenance.
Applicants must be high school graduates (or equivalent) and be willing to participate in the program’s 40 hour per week, apprenticeship-style format. AMT students will attend college two days a week and work three days a week at a sponsoring company. In as few as 18 months (5 semesters), AMT students can earn an Associate in Applied Science degree. Plus, sponsoring companies have the option to direct hire AMT students who succesfully complete program requirements for full-time employment.
